The Swing Gang is a Tampa based, nonprofit organization established in 1998 and incorporated in 1999 devoted to supporting and developing the swing dance community, swing dance music and the enjoyment of retro culture.
Located at 4109 N. Lauber Way in the Zendah Grotto building (see map), the Swing Gang hosts it's weekly dance every Sunday night. Sunday Swing dances feature free swing and lindy lessons from the area's most experienced dance instructors. Our professional DJ's have libraries of excellent swing music from jump jivin' and wailin' blues, hoppin' and swingin' jazz, big band swing, crooning Sinatra style, combo swing, rockabilly, new age swing craze, and even some outside-the-lines swing. The venue has a giant floating hardwood floor and a huge sound system that begs you to dance and makes you feel it in your bones.
The Swing Gang periodically presents workshops with internationally famous talent and produces concerts featuring live talent of local, national and internationally famous swing bands. Also, the Suncoast Swing Gang co-sponsors projects with other swing promoters and groups.
We, by the self-less hard work and dedication of our officers, directors, committee members, co-sponsors and many friends, help keep swing alive in Tampa Bay.
